Prime numbers are numbers that can only be divided by itself or 1. For instance we know that 2 is a prime number because only 1 and 2 multiplied make 2. However if a number can be divided by more than just itself and 1, it is known as a composite number. An example of this would be 6 since its factors are 1, 2, 3 and 6.
